Magie Faure-Vidot Vijay-Kumar

Magie Faure-Vidot Vijay-Kumar was born in Victoria, Seychelles.  She is a member of the Institute Académique de Paris and the Académie Internationale de Lutèce.  She has won numerous international awards  over the course of her career, including the Coupe de La Ville de Paris, a Lyre d’honneur, and six silver and numerous bronze medals, and others in various international poetry festivals and other initiatives.  Her work has been discussed in critical studies of Seychellois literature, namely  by Carol Denis, in 1998, student at the National College of the Arts Graphics, Seychelles - a woman with  difference, “LA LITTERATURE SEYCHELLOISE:  Production, promotion, et reception, de Pascale Canova (1 janvier 2017), Editions L’Harmattan pp. 1- ISBN 078-2-296-15962-4.  (http://www.google.com/books?id=d’On24iKa-C4C&pg=PP1), study carried out on ‘IDENTITE ET INSULAIRE DANS LA POESIE SEYCHELLOISE CONTEMPORAINE” by 29 year old doctorate in Literature, Karoly Sandor Pallai, book in Universities in Louisiana, Hungry and the Seychelles.  She has also achieved some fame as an oral performer.

After living for some time in the Lebanon, England, Italy and France, Faure-Vidot returned to the Seychelles.  There she cofounded and continue to codirect, both the online literary review Vents Alizé and the online publishing house Edisyon Losean Endyen, both of which she runs in conjunction with Hungarian poet Karoly Sandor Pallai.  Her work is regularly published in Seychelles Nation, Seychelles Today and the People, and she is the editor of SIPAY, the only Seychellois literary magazine since 2009-date (on various themes) reaching its 20th edition in December 2018.

She is also engaged in the cultural life of her country, including showing her work at exhibitions of art by local women.  Given many interviews to the Radio Seychelles and TV Seychelles.

  Her poems were published in the international poetry anthology Amaravati Poetic Prism in Indi in 2017.  In 2017, she received the prestigious Seychelles Arts Award in the literature for her outstanding literary work and achievements.

Tarana Turan Rahimli

Tarana Turan Rahimli is an Azerbaijani poetess, writer, journalist, translator, literary critic, teacher, academic, is an active member of the International Literary Agency in Turkey and Azerbaijan. She is a PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of Azerbaijan and World Literature Chair of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, author of 7 books and more than 400 articles. She is the editor and reviewer of 20 monographs and poetry books. Her works have been published in more than 15 Western and Eastern countries. Her poems were published in Azerbaijan, England, Italy, Spain, USA, Germany, Belgium, Chile, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tataristan, Uzbekistan and in other countries. Including her poems and articles have been published in many international sites around the world, on periodicals and in anthologies. Tarana Turan Rahimli was born into an educated family on February 20, in 1970, in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. During 1977 and 1987 she studied at the secondary school number 48 in Baku and at the secondary school number 1 in the city of Barda. In 1990 she entered the faculty of philology of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and graduated from University in 1995. In 2004 she defended candidate of sciences on the theme of “Creative activity of Kamal Talibzade”, and got the degree of candidate of philology. Just during the studentship years (1991-1994) she worked at the newspaper “Ganj muallim” (Young teacher) of ASPU, after graduating the university she worked as the responsible secretary of that newspaper (1994-2000) , then she became editor-in-chief ( 2000-2007) of that newspaper. Meanwhile, during 1996-1997 she was the responsible secretary of the newspaper “ Zaman” ( Time) , in 1999 she was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Azerbaijan fighters”, during 2007-2008 she became the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “ Tahsil problemleri” ( Educational problems) . Since 2003 she is the teacher of the department of “The literature of Azerbaijan and world” of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, since 2008 she is in the post of a head teacher at the same department, since 2011 she is assistant professor of that department. Starting from 2012-2015 academic years she is the assistant professor of the department of “World Literature” of ASPU. At the same time she teaches Japanese literature at the faculty of Oriental studies of Baku State University. Since 1992 she is the member of Azerbaijan Ashugs Union, (on poetry), since 1994 she is the member of Union of Azerbaijani writers, since 1998 she is the member of the Council of Constitutor of World Young Turkish Writers , since 1999 she is the member of Union of Azerbaijani writers , since 2007 she is the member of well-known honorable organization in Turkey Cyprus Balkans, - The Organization of Eurasia Turkish Literature . She is the staff member of academic journal of “History and thinking” of Turkish World Studying Organization. She is the founder of literary unities as “ Qar Chicheyi” ( Primrose) and “Addimlar” ( Steps) ( ASPU), like the member of Union of World Young Turkish Writers she took an active part in compiling and publishing the poetry Anthologies titled as “Qar Chicheyi” , “Addimlar” and “ The voice of Turk” . She researches in the field of Azerbaijan literature, literature of Turkey, The literature of Bati Trakya, Russian literature, Japanese literature, the literature of western countries, Azerbaijani literary critic. She is engaged in giving lectures on the history of Azerbaijan literary critic, literary relations, literature of Western countries, literature of East Slavic people, literature of Japan, Modern Azerbaijani literature, the literature of Turkish people. Including she is engaged in writing poetry and prose, literary criticism, publicism and translation. Her works have been published in Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Italy Iran, Chili, Russia, England and other countries. She was the participant of a number of international symposiums, conference, and literary events. She is the author of six books and more than 400 articles. In 2007 Tarana Turan Rahimli got the prize of “Qelem” (Pen) of the competition held by “Caucasus Media” on the occasion of National Media and 170 yearly anniversary of Hasan bey Zardabi. In 2007 she got the message of thanks by the Dean’s office of the faculty according to the results of the examinations held by her. In 2009 she was honored with the prizes of “The scientific secretary of the year: by the Organization of New Writers and Artisans. In 2012 in Turkey she got Honorary Decree of Eurasia Turkish Literatures of Cyprus Balkans, the Honorary Decree of Gediz University of Turkish Republic, Official thanks of Izmir Konak Municipality. Including she was honored with Honorably Decree of Istanbul Tuzla Municipality. In 2013 at Baku gathering of she got the prize of “For service to Turkish World” by the Union of World Young Turkish Writers. On May of 2013 in Turkey she got Honorary Decree of KIBATEK, Honorary Decree of Okan university of Turkish Republic, on December of 2014 she got Honorary Decree and official thanking letter. In 2014 she was honored with the International Prize of Akif Samad by Union of Turkish Activist Artisans. On August of 2015 she was honored with Honorary Decree by Turkish Art Platforum. Since May of 205 she is grant-holder of the President of Azerbaijan RepublicShe is received the honorary decree of the Pablo Neruda Cultural Association in Italy (KIBATEK-39) and premia International Gold Bridge in Bari Aldo Moro University's (2016). The International Award "Rasul Rza" in Azerbaijan and Mikayil Mushfig Prize, literary prize "Honor Service" from Kirkuk Cultural Center in Iraq. The poet won the competition "Veliero" film and literary competition held in 2017 in Calabria, Italy. A number of articles have been published about her literary activity in the scientific and literary press of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russian, Greek, Germany, Uzbekistan. In Turkey her two books “They will recognize me from my love” (İzmir, 2013,) “The poem that I didn’t write to you” (Ankara ,2013) have been published. Including her monograph “ The decent follower of the Great generation” about Kamal Talibzade , the eminent literary critic, Academic of Azerbaijan ( Baku, 2012) , the poetry collection of “ The Whisper of Grief”, (Baku, 2007) textbooks titled as “The creative problems of literature and literary critic “ ( Baku, 2009) , a scientific book titled as “ From the literature to eternity” (Baku, 2015) have been published. In 2017 the monograph "The Azerbaijani prose and criticism" was published and awarded with the honorary decree of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan.
 
 
 

Monica Stravino

Monica Stravino is an Italian poet, a writer and a High School teacher of Spanish Language. Since 2016 she is a World Union of Poets(WUP) Ambassador, and WUP Cross of Peace - the WUP was founded by the Knight of Merit for poetry Silvano Bortolazzi. Since 2016 she is the Italian section Vice President of UMECEP (World Writers Union for Culture, Ecology and Peace). 

In 2013 Monica Stravino’s Poesia del Sole (Ode of the Sun) - awarded in 1995 at the International Prize “Il Sannio”-,  and her poem  Goccia di Rugiada (Dew Drop) have been published in Spanish, in the Book of Poems Hacia una Nueva Arcadia, published by the "Museo Abierto para el Mundo" Foundation  and the National Open University of Caracas. The poem Dew Drop, in Spanish Gota de Rocío, was rewarded by the General Consulate of Venezuela in Naples in 2013. In 2014, the Roman Poeti e Poesia  Magazine made the video poem of the Dew Drop, accompanied by photos by the Spanish artist Antonio Luque and music composed by a young student Gianclaudio Batelli. Between 2014 and 2016 the Academy of the Spanish Language ISLA in Salamanca made the video poem with music composed by Gianclaudio Batelli  in the Italian, Spanish and English versions of the Ode to the Sun (all videos can be watched on Youtube). 

In 2009 Monica Stravino’s first novel Apparenze was published by Blu di Prussia Publishing (Piacenza). In 2011 her book of tales Racconti Al Profumo di Rosa was published by Albatros (Roma). 

In 1997-98 she collaborated with the editor of the megazine Valle di Suessola, writing social and cultural articles; in the last years she has written several articles on the megazine Il Confronto and the on line magazine La Tribuna in rete. Her poems have appeared in various literary anthologies such as: I Premi di Pagine, Pagine (2006); La Poesia nel Cassetto, Pubbligrafica Romana di Roberto Saulli (2007); Toffia. Riviviamo il Centro Storico. Poesia in Libertà (2010); Il Tiburtino, Aletti editore (2012), Impronte, Pagine Editore, Roma (2014). 

In 2016 her biography and the Ode to the Sun have been published on the newspaper Eastern World Newspaper in Uzbekistan. During 2016 her biography and several poems have been published by Galaktika Poetika Atunis online magazine. In December 2016 she has been awarded at XV National Prize “E.Caruso” in Caserta, Italy. In 2017 she won Donne tra ricordi e futuro third Prize for the ecologist section with her unpublished fable entitled Cuoricino nella terra dei fuochi.  

 

Phuntsho Wangchuk

Phuntsho Wangchuk is currently working as an English Teacher at one of the High Schools in the central part of Bhutan, the Himalayan country. He is an aspiring and budding poet, born on 17th August 1983 in the central-eastern part of the country. In 2009, he graduated from Paro College of Education, one of the two teacher-training institutes in the country. He loves reading and writing poems and songs that mirror the mundane lives and mindsets. At times, he gets absorbed and lost in observing and interacting with Mother Nature, so is he, an undaunted bosom-friend of nature. Most of his poems are enveloped by modern Odes and Shakespearean Sonnets apart from Satires and Elegies.
