Dr. Bina Singh

Prof. Bina Singh, born and brought up in Varanasi, obtained her PhD in English from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Literature is her passion and poetry first love. She is head of the department of English, Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya (BHU) Varanasi. She has been guest faculty at two International Academic Programmes- 1. American Institute of Indian Studies, Language Programme, Varanasi and 2. University of Wisconsin College yaar in India for nine years. She is an active member of various academic and socio cultural bodies. Presently Dr. Singh is president of Kashi Tatav Sabha of Theosophical Society of India, Varanasi. She is also coordinator of Spoken English Course recommended by University Grant Commission and approved by BHU. Her area of interest is fiction, Poetry, theatre, feminist literature and American literature. She has been teaching English literature and language for the last 35 years. Dr. Singh has authored books titled, Kingsley Amis: The Social Satirist, Spoken English (a book of Situational Conversation), Jhanvi Keeps ME Afloat (a collection of poems), Unsung Melody (a collection of poems), In Search (an anthology of poems). Her poems, articles and research papers have been published in national and international books and journals. She has organized, chaired and participated in various international and national conferences, literary festivals and workshops.
